Western North Carolina’s leader in affordable orthodontics is now offering the flexibility and convenience of virtual consultations. Giving your child — or yourself the gift of a full and natural smile just got a whole lot easier.
A virtual consultation is a safe and convenient way to start your smile journey. With a virtual consultation, you don’t have to worry about finding room in your busy schedule to come into our Asheville office. All you need to do is fill out some quick info about your orthodontic history and upload some close-up images of your smile.
We pride ourselves on finding an orthodontic price that works for every budget. When we contact you, we will tell you about our awesome plans, including zero percent interest and flexible monthly payments. We will work with you remotely, and can connect via text or video chat. Plus, if you need to visit a dentist before starting treatment with us, we will recommend a great option near you.
Virtual consults are not just for new patients, either. If you’re currently a patient of Dr. Black, you can cut down on in-person visits by opting in for a virtual progress assessment.
We can assess your smile and recommend possible solutions without coming to our office. Simply answer a few questions about your contact info, history, indicate treatment preferences like Invisalign or Damon Braces, and one of our orthodontic consultants will reach out to you about your treatment options. Feel free to send us a text message if you need help with this process.
Accurate consultation starts with uploading quality review photos. Here are some tips for taking photos of your mouth.
Use your cell phone camera to take some snapshots of your mouth. A cell phone is best because you need to get close to your teeth, and it’s harder to get certain angles with your computer camera.
Have a loved one or friend take photos of your teeth. While selfies can work, it is harder to photograph your mouth when you can’t see it. Make sure that you use a flash or are in a well-lit area. Using a natural light source that faces your teeth — and is not behind you — works best. These photographs should only include your teeth. Try not to include portions of your cheeks or lips.
The first photo is of the front of your teeth. Start by closing your mouth and biting down on the back of your teeth. Then relax your lips and use two of your fingers to pull back your cheeks and reveal your full smile. If you are taking selfies, and can’t use both hands, simply bite down and smile as big as you can!
Next, you need to take a photo of your left side. Once again, start by biting down on your back teeth and relaxing your lips. Look to the right of the camera lens — and use one finger to pull back your left cheek.
Then take a picture of the right side of your mouth. Just like before, bite down and relax your lips. This time look to the left of the camera and use one finger to pull your right cheek back.
You’re almost done! To take a picture of your top teeth, tilt back your head and open your mouth as wide and you can.
The final photo is of your bottom teeth. Tilt your chin down and open your mouth as wide as you can.
Virtual consultation lets you skip to the front of the line and get professional advice on how to improve your smile. But that’s not the only perk of virtual consultation. At Black Orthodontics, our patients enjoy these benefits:
