Meet The Doctor

Dr. Keith Black along with his wife, Susan (native of Boone, NC) and their three daughters have called Western North Carolina home for over twenty years. Before starting his practice in the Asheville area, Dr. Black attended Emory University where he attained his B.S. in Chemistry in 1979, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he attained his D.D.S. degree in 1983 and continued his education at UNC to receive his M.S. degree specializing in orthodontics in 1986.
Throughout his career, Dr. Black is proud to say that his practice is always on the “cutting edge” of orthodontics by providing his patients with the latest technology and treatment options available. While providing excellent patient care has always been a priority for Dr. Black, he also loves giving back to the Western North Carolina community and continues to serve as a guest lecturer in the orthodontic department of the UNC Dental School.
Over the past twenty years, Dr. Black has received numerous awards, some of which include the Employer of the Year for Persons with Disabilities, Small Business Leader of the Year, and Philanthropist of the Year by the City of Asheville Chamber of Commerce. In addition to this, Dr. Black has served on numerous boards some of which include serving as the President of the YMCA board of directors, the President of the Big Brothers Big Sisters board of directors, and the President of the Buncombe County Dental Society. Presently, he is serving as a member of the Young Life committee for the Asheville area and has worked closely with Eblen foundation to create a non-profit sealant program for underprivileged children of Buncombe County. With his history of giving back to the community, Dr. Black is very excited to continue this tradition by participating in Smiles for a Lifetime.
